Intro to Paddleboarding

Think you've got balance? Try our intro course to paddle-boarding with our experienced Naturalist. You will get wet, so be sure to dress appropriately. We will meet at the boat house and learn the basic principals of paddling before we go on the water. Space is limited; registration is required. October Nights Music Fest

Kick off the beginning of fall with the band 3 Bucks Shy appearing for their second performance of the season. They will be playing bluegrass favorites as well as original material. The concert will be held at the beach pavilion where refreshments will be sold. Be sure to bring your own seats; space is limited. All ages are welcome. $5 parking. 770-867-3489.

Do you have a fear of snakes? Maybe we can change your mind. Join us for a fun activity on snakes in Georgia and how beneficial they are to environment around us. A special guest will teach you what to do when you encounter a snake in the wild. Live snakes will be present. All ages are welcome. The Barrow County Humane Society will be hosting a race at the park on October 9th at 10:00 a.m. The trails will be closed to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. They will be meeting at Picnic Shelter 2. In the event that the race is postponed, the rain check date will be October 16th during the same time period. Call the office for details. $5 parking. 770-867-3489.

Hayrides bring you to the old fort where the walk begins. Enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting as we end the night with one last tale at the fort. $5 plus $5 parking. 770-867-3489.
