These programs are called
"Outdoor Classrooms" because we strive to place a majority
of the learning process outside, with students putting their hands
into the activities. Depending upon the program class time may be
as low as 10% and 90% outdoors, the average split is 40% indoors and
60% outdoors.

A second type of program
is our "Kid's Day in the Park". These programs are designed
to give the kids an outlet one or two Saturdays a month in the Park. A
topic is selected that parallels a holiday in that month, an animal,
or some aspect of nature. We spend time in the classroom discussing
it, then go to the forest to experience it, and finally make a craft
related to the topic for the kids to take home.

Another established program
is the Junior Ranger Program. A Junior Ranger Workshop is scheduled
bi-monthly to give the children an opportunity to participate.
|
 |
Programs are also designed
for the Boy and Girl Scouts of America. We encourage Scouting leaders
to utilize the Center and staff to help the Scouts accomplish tasks
toward completion of their merit badges.

The Nature & Education
Center also provides the community to attend Georgia's Hunter Safety
& Education Program. This program is offered by certified instructors
to the public free of charge. The Camden County Sheriff's Department,
well as Georgia Department of Natural Resource personnel make up the
instructor base.

Finally, during the Spring
and Summer months activities and programs are posted throughout the
Park. This gives campers and guests opportunities to enjoy our park
to the fullest.
