Freshwater Fishing
Home Up Fishing Gear

The Park has its own fresh water pond for fishing. The fishing is restricted to the campers, cottage guests and disabled persons who are under the age of 16 and over the age of 62.

As with the license regulations listed under the saltwater fishing, licenses can be obtained from the Park Office.

Background on the Pond:

The pond was once a great place to freshwater fish. Through the years cattails and other choking growth filled the pond to a point where fishing was not possible. Thanks to our Rangers and Park staff, the pond has been revamped, cleaned and landscaped. The improvements will continue to re-establish habitat for the fish, Wood Ducks, Coots, Egrets and various other wildlife.

Fishing will be allowed starting Memorial Day weekend, 2003.
