 Welcome Fellow Educators!

We are proud to assist you in helping educate young people across the state. It is our goal to work with local school systems to teach the new Georgia Performance Standards curriculum. Many topics addressed in the new curriculum tie in very well with the interpretive plans found at our many diverse historic sites. Also, each site’s professionally trained interpretive staff is capable of bringing the subject matter to life in a way that will be highly entertaining and meaningful to you and your students.

Eventually, it is our goal to develop site specific, curriculum-based, professional quality lesson plans for educators. This will take some time, but for now, we want you to know that we offer guided interpretive tours of our sites that target many specific topics addressed in the new standards. Also, the chart provided below details which educational standards are covered at each historic site.

We encourage you to take advantage of the marvelous natural and cultural resources available at one of our many historic sites near you. We aim to provide you and your students with fun-filled, enduring learning experiences that will help improve test scores and promote greater stewardship among our future generations.
