Soldier and Civilian Life during the Civil War and Candlelight Tours

Learn about the life of Soldiers and Civilians during the Civil War. During the day, see civilian and military living History Demonstrations. Later that night, experience the tense moments of the night battle on a candlelit tour. Preregistration is required for the candlelight tour. Registration starts in early September, link will appear below.

Confederate and Federal soldiers will recreate the night attack of the Battle of Pickett's Mill. Visitors will witness Brig. Gen. Hiram Granary's Brigade advance into the dark ravine and Capt. Thomas Key's artillery bombardment. You will encounter women and children refugee's trying to evacuate the battle area.

Located Take I-20 exit #44. Turn onto Thornton Road. (Highway 278) Follow Highway 278 West for 10 miles. Make a right onto Highway 92. Travel North on Highway 92 for approximately 6 miles. Look for brown Pickett's Mill signs as you continue. Turn left onto Due West Road. Continue 2 miles. Turn right onto Mount Tabor Church Road. Travel half a mile and the site on the right.
