This tour will follow an old Civil War road that leads to where Leverett’s Mill once stood. The mill was burned as war contraband by Federal forces retreating to Acworth. Terrain is rugged; wear good hiking shoes. $3 - $5.50. 770-443-7850.

Located Take I-20 exit #44. Turn onto Thornton Rd. (Hwy 278) West. Follow Hwy 278 West for 10 miles. Make a right onto Hwy 92. Travel North on Hwy 92 for approximately 6 miles. Look for brown Pickett's Mill signs as you continue. Turn left onto Due West Rd. Continue 2 miles. Turn right onto Mt. Tabor Church Rd. The site is 1/2 mile on the right.
