Atlanta Audubon Beginners winter bird walk
This field trip is designed for anyone interested in learning more about birds, habitats critical to some species, and organizations like the Audubon Society which are dedicated to bird conservation. Meet at the Park Office/Trading Post. Donations of bird seed for the park bird feeder are welcome

This field trip is designed for anyone interested in learning more about birds, habitats critical to some species, and organizations like the Audubon Society which are dedicated to bird conservation. Target winter species would include water fowl like Lesser Scaup, Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, and winter migrants from up north like Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker, Ruby and Golden-Crowned Kinglets, and winter sparrows like Savannah, Swamp, Fox and White-Throated Sparrow. There are usually more raptors to be seen during the winter months, like American Kestrels, Coopers and Sharp-Shinned Hawks. Meet at the Park Office/Trading Post. Donations of bird seed for the park bird feeder are welcome.
