Landscaping and Gardening Volunteer Project

 This event has already occurred.

We will be working on projects for young and not so young. The variety of projects include spreading mulch and pulling weeds, trail maintenance, planting native and heirloom plants, repairing an authentic style split rail fence, sprucing up the historic cabin and homestead, removing invasive plants, and installing information signs along the trail.

There will be a black powder weapons demonstration including artillery firing for everyone. Be sure to see the new addtion in the museum, a cannon that was used during the battle at Pickett`s Mill. Learn how this very cannon affected the battle. Snacks and water are provided for the volunteers. After the work is done, volunteers will be treated to a free hayride. Come learn more about the Confederate victory at Pickett`s Mill that took place during the Civil War.

Admission: Volunteers get in free.
