The Arrest of Alexander Hamilton Stephens

On May 11, 1865 A.H. Stephens was arrested and charged with treason. Come out and experience a live re-enactment of his arrest and his homecoming that took place on October 27, 1865. In addition to the re-enactment, we will have period performers and demonstrators.

Join our live performers as they experience the sadness of his arrest and celebration of his return to his "beloved" Liberty Hall.

Take I-20 exit #148. Go 2 miles and cross the junction of Highway 22 and Highway 278. Turn right onto MLK Jr. Drive. Go 1 mile, then turn left onto Alexander Street. Follow signs to park office.
