July Fourth Bike Parade

Come to celebrate our independence with bicycle parade and many fun contests such as the best patriotic costume, patriotic bicycle, speech, watermelon seed spitting and more!

CONTESTS:

1) Patriotic Costume Contest
- dress up in lots of red/white/blue, or dress like Betsy Ross, the Statue of Liberty, Uncle Sam or some other patriotic character. Three finalists will each receive prizes in the awards ceremony after the parade.

2) Patriotic Bicycle Contest
- Decorate your bikes creatively with the national colors or anything that blow the judges and the spectators away! Three finalists will each receive prizes.

3) Patriotic Speech Contest
- This is for all kids age 12 or younger. Participants prepare 60-90 seconds patriotic speeches to read to our preliminary judges before the parade. Approximate three finalists will be selected to read their speeches during the awards ceremony. It will be video recorded and featured on Elijah Clark State Park's Facebook.

4) Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest
- Each kid and parents are invited to join the contest. The top-5 kids whose seeds fly farthest will make it to the finals with their parent/ guardian. Finalists will bejoined by a parent to see whose combined "spits" go farthest. The winner will receive a prize. Who don't want a year's worth of bragging rights as the best seed spitter?! $5 parking. 706-359-3458.
