Coastal Georgia Kayak Camp

Join park rangers on this family-friendly paddle through the Okefenokee Swamp, along Crooked River and on Sapelo Island's Lighthouse Creek. You'll explore freshwater swamps, salt marsh and brackish rivers. Kayak gear, professional guides, campsites and meals included. Reservations required by May 7. Participants will have the opportunity to camp at 3 locations in the flatwoods and coast of Georgia and kayak through freshwater swamps and salt marshes. Park staff will be with you throughout your trip to share with you the flora, fauna, and history of the places you visit; such as Stephen C. Foster State Park in the Okefenokee Swamp, Crooked River State Park, Sapelo Island, and the Reynolds Mansion. Never before has the general public been given the opportunity to have as much one on one time with the people who live and work at these locations in one adventure packed trip. Families of any size will enjoy the fun filled weekend with interpretation and opportunities to experience the swamps and coast of Georgia. Limited space, registration required.
