In this introduction to sustainable practices in hobby bee keeping, guests will learn about pathogen and disease identification, organic treatments, how to help hives overwinter, swarming behavior, creating a bee-friendly yard, and non-toxic pest and disease control. Taught by entomologist and bee-keeper Amanda Rose Newton.

Obtaining/renting equipment and treatments, overall costs, and what to expect your first year will also be covered. Taught by Entomologist and Bee-Keeper Amanda Rose Newton.
