Soldier and Civilian Life during the Civil War and Candlelight Tours

Join us to learn about the life of Soldiers and Civilians during the Civil War. See civilian and military living History Demonstrations. Later that night, participate in a guided interpretive tour. Relive the tense moments of the night battle at Pickett's Mill. Preregistration is required.

Confederate and Federal soldiers will recreate the night attack of the Battle of Pickett's Mill. Visitors will witness Brig. Gen. Hiram Granary's Brigade advance into the dark ravine and Capt. Thomas Key's artillery bombardment. You will encounter women and children refugee's trying to evacuate the battle area.

Located Take I-20 exit #44. Turn onto Thornton Rd. (Hwy 278) West. Follow Hwy 278 West for 10 miles. Make a right onto Hwy 92. Travel North on Hwy 92 for approximately 6 miles. Look for brown Pickett's Mill signs as you continue. Turn left onto Due West Rd. Continue 2 miles. Turn right onto Mt. Tabor Church Rd. The site is 1/2 mile on the right.
