ATLANTA, March 7, 2014 -- If the little ones in your family are excited about Easter, start the celebration early by joining an egg hunt. Several Georgia State Parks are hosting events where children can fill their baskets with goodies and work off energy on playgrounds. Covered picnic shelters and enclosed group shelters can be reserved for large family potlucks and barbecues. Plus, all of Georgia’s State Parks and many State Historic Sites have picnic tables with pretty views. To find a nearby park, visit GeorgiaStateParks.org.
Glow-In-The-Dark Easter Egg Hunt

Fort Yargo Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fort Yargo State Park - Winder, GA

Earth Day and Spring EGGtravanganza

Earth Day is just around the corner, so spend the day learning about Mother Earth. Programs include guided hikes, recycled crafts and wildlife presentations. The Easter Bunny has hidden eggs, and they are waiting to be found. Children can bring their own basket, join the fun and search for a few. Georgia Veterans Easter Egg-Stravaganza

Celebrate Easter in the great outdoors with a 3 p.m. egg hunt for more than 2,000 eggs. Once all the eggs are found, there will be a live animal show about local egg-laying reptiles. Roosevelt's Little White House Historic Site - Warm Springs, GA
Bring your Easter basket and camera for a fun day set in the Little White House grounds. The 3-5 year old group will begin at 1 p.m. The 6-8 year old group will begin at 1:30 p.m. The 9-11 year old group will begin at 2 p.m. Following the Easter egg hunt, children can participate in an Easter Egg Roll similar to the one at the White House in D.C. $10 - $14. 706-655-5870.

Suwannee River Visitor Center's Eggstraordinary Easter

S.C. Foster State Park’s Suwannee River Visitor Center – Fargo, GA
