Trench Warfare in the Civil War

Did you know Civil War soldiers utilized trenches as a tactic of warfare? As the war developed into its later stages, troops both blue and gray learned quickly that "digging in" was vital to winning battles. See some of the actual trenches that were used. This program will be part lecture and part battlefield tour, so everyone will enjoy it.

Located Take I-20 exit #44. Turn onto Thornton Road. (Highway 278) Follow Highway 278 West for 10 miles. Make a right onto Highway 92. Travel North on Highway 92 for approximately 6 miles. Look for brown Pickett's Mill signs as you continue. Turn left onto Due West Road. Continue 2 miles. Turn right onto Mount Tabor Church Road. Travel half a mile and the site on the right.
