Located on the shores of Lake Walter F. George in southwest Georgia, this resort park features a 60-room lodge, conference center, restaurant, cottages and award-winning 18-hole Meadow Links Golf Course. The park's marina and boat ramp offer easy access to the 48,000-acre lake for fishing and boating. The large picnic shelter and numerous picnic sites are perfect places for families to enjoy their catch. Facilities are available for meetings, reunions, weddings and other group gatherings. Visitors may also look for wildlife along the three-mile nature trail, which winds through hardwoods and pines.

    The Parks At Chehaw's outreach program presents two live animals events: 9 a.m. Survial of the Fittest and 10 a.m. Georgia Woods. Both focus on native wildlife. $3 parking. 229-768-2571.
    Get Outdoors Georgia Labor Day Celebration and Luau

    This celebration is filled with guided nature hikes, crafts and relay races during the day, followed by an evening end-of-the-summer Luau Party at the marina with live entertainment. $3 parking. 229-768-2571.
    Falconry Program

    Pioneer Day
    Saturday, Oct 4, 2008 10 AM - 2 PM
    Pioneer reenactments, demonstrations, and chuckwagon cooking focus on the history of our southwest Georgia area. Enjoy food prepared over an open fire and served right out of the dutch oven ~~ just like the pioneers did it.  $1 and up for cooking samples. $3 parking. 229-768-2571.
    Halloween Festival
