Fort King George Historic Site is supported by a well-organized friends group. Our friends group is called "The Garrison of Fort King George" and is a sub-chapter of the Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites.

The primary mission of The Garrison is to promote awareness of the site and it's educational goals. Therefore, The Garrison is committed to increasing our site's funding for special programs. The Garrison is for all people who want to contribute to historical and/or cultural preservation, and is not just limited to those who want to re-enact in living history programs.

With recent funding shortages and set-backs, the information for our site has come to rely increasingly on our friends organization to help us continue our fine tradition of award-winning programs at Fort King George Historic Site.
