Make a Reservation

Making reservations is easy! Now you may make reservations for campsites, cottages, lodge rooms and picnic shelters online. Reservations for camping at Tallulah Gorge, the group camp at Fort Yargo, the Lodge at Smithgall Woods and the Reynolds Mansion on Sapelo Island are made by calling the individual parks.

Reservations for peak weekends, such as holidays and autumn leaf season, are highly recommended because accommodations fill up far in advance. A three-night minimum is required for most accommodations on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day weekends. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, many cottages require a one-week stay unless the reservation is made less than 30 days in advance.

Reservations may be made up to 11 months (to the day) in advance through our reservation center; however, if you wish to use the facility in less than two days, contact the site directly to inquire about availability. For example, if you want to arrive October 5, you may call as early as November 5 of the previous year or as late as October 3. Walk-ins are welcome to use most unreserved facilities, and no-shows forfeit deposit and reservation.

Although specific campsites and lodge rooms may not be reserved, visitors can request a location that best meets their needs, such as a waterfront campsite, an RV pull-thru site or non-smoking room. Park staff will make every effort to give visitors their preferred location if it is available for the duration of their stay. Cottage guests (except at some lodge parks) may reserve a specific unit.

When can I make a reservation? Reservations must be made at least
two days prior to arrival but no more than 11 months in advance.

Can I stay at the park if I don't have a reservation? Walk-ins
are welcome to use unreserved facilities for one or two nights. As soon as you
occupy an unreserved facility, call our reservation center if you want to extend
    your stay past two nights.

Every summer I stay in cottage #7 at my favorite state park. Can I
still specify which cottage I want?
Yes, callers can reserve a specific
cottage or shelter. Campers may request a type of site that meets their needs,
such as an RV pull-thru. Lodge guests may reserve a type of room that meets
their needs, such as an accessible or non-smoking room.

Since my reservation doesn't specify which campsite I will have, can
I still pick it out once I arrive?
After you check in, we will make
every effort to give you your preferred site if it is available for the full duration of your stay.

I want to stay in a mountain cottage with three bedrooms, a fireplace
and deck. Can you help me decide where to go?
Yes! Our reservation associates can help you find a park or facility that meets your needs, and if your first choice isn't available, they can suggest a nearby park or alternate dates.

My family is so large that one campsite won't accomodate all of us.
    Can I reserve two sites?
Yes, you may reserve as many facilities as you
need; however, we can not guarantee that facilities will be adjacent to each other.
