Georgia has 18 significant historic sites and historic parks. There are many opportunities for both adult and family volunteers to become involved with a local historic site. Volunteers dress up in period clothing and serve as hosts to help interpret the history of the Revolutionary or Civil War, plantation life or even the gentle times of the Victorian period.  Other volunteers serve behind the scene to catalog and archive historic artifacts or assist as museum docent volunteers to offer visitors information and education opportunities. Volunteers can serve on a one-time or extended basis.
