Welcome Educators!

Fort King George Historic Site is dedicated to being Georgia's premier living history education site. We now offer Georgia-Performance-Standards based, cross-curricular lesson plans. These lesson plans provide instructional materials for teachers of all core subjects. Furthermore, they are diverse and designed to accommodate multiple learning styles.

Interpretive Mission: The interpretive mission of Fort King George Historic Site is to educate the public about the colonial military struggles that affected Georgia's early history. Primarily, interpretive staff aim to reveal this fort's role in the Southeastern, colonial struggle for empire between Great Britain, Spain, and France. Additionally, we aim to show that these imperial struggles contributed to a multi-cultural, frontier society made up of many diverse peoples, trades, crafts, and lifestyles.
