Peak leaf season has come and gone at mountain parks; however, the scenery is still beautiful throughout much of middle and southern Georgia. At S.C. Foster in the Okefenokee Swamp, cypress needles are turning copper and falling quickly, while a few maples are still glowing red. This year's fall color has been somewhat subdued because of excessive rain and wind. Check here often for updates on the changing leaves, suggested hiking trails and last-minute reservations. Entry to our Flickr fall color contest has closed, and the winner will be announced soon.
