ATV Trails to be Discussed at May 16 Meeting

FRANKLIN, GA

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has scheduled a public meeting to discuss creating all-terrain vehicle (ATV) trails at Bush Head Shoals in Franklin.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, at the Heard County 4H Center on Glover Road.

The state recently received a $1.1 million federal Recreation Trails Grant to be used for approximately 14 miles of ATV trails. The state has owned the 700-acre Bush Head Shoals property, located along the Chattahoochee River, for several years but has not begun any park development. The proposed amenity would be the first ATV trail system developed by the DNR. Comments may also be sent to gastateparkscustomer.service@dnr.ga.gov.
