Wildflower and Waterfall Get Fit Level 1 Hike

9:30 a.m.–11 a.m., Sundays June 18, 2017 until Aug 13, 2017 

Fort Mountain State Park - Chatsworth, GA

Join a Ranger on this easy to moderate hike around the Lake and Big Rock Trails. Hike will take around 1.5 hours. A great way to get fit while learning about the park and wildflowers. Wear closed toed shoes. Meet at the Group Shelter near the beach. $3 plus $5 parking. 706-422-1932.

Father's Day Fishing Rodeo

Fort Yargo State Park - Winder, GA

Stand-Up Paddleboarding for Beginners

High Falls State Park - Jackson, GA

Our class will help you develop fundamental skills such as balance, steering, and recovery techniques. After class, soak in High Falls Lake from the view of a paddleboard with a free one-hour paddleboard rental. Open to adults and children 8 and older who are accompanied by an adult. Magnolia Springs State Park - Millen, GA

Celebrate Father's Day with this Ranger led hike around various trails and areas of the park. Learn about the variety of animals, natural, and man-made structures that make up Magnolia Springs State Park. Intro to Tree Climbing

Panola Mountain State Park - Stockbridge, GA

Join us "on rope" for an adventure exploring the canopy above. This is an introductory program to recreational tree climbing. Participants will use rope and harness to ascend into a 200+ year old Southern Red Oak, where they can climb, swing, and scramble. Climbs start at 1 PM and 3 PM. Call Nature Center to register. New Manchester Civil War Days

Sweetwater Creek State Park - Lithia Springs, GA

This living history event will bring to life the New Manchester Community that prospered up to the end of the Civil War. Visit a Civil War-era encampment, take a historical tour to the New Manchester Mill, and learn about Civil War-era uniforms and firearms during black powder demonstrations and infantry drilling. $5 parking. 770-732-5871.

Twilight Lake Paddle

Sweetwater Creek State Park - Lithia Springs, GA

Join us for a peaceful, ranger-led outing as we watch for wading birds and raptors and enjoy the setting sun. This program is open to adults who can swim and children 6 years or older who can swim and are accompanied by an adult. You may choose a canoe or kayak for this trip. Reservations required.
