Picnic Facilities - Picnic Shelters & Group Shelters

		Picnic Shelters: We’ve Got You Covered All state parks except Sprewell Bluff and Sapelo Island have covered picnic tables that may be reserved up to 13 months in advance and are available on a first-come basis if not reserved. These open-air shelters include several tables assembled under a single roof and sometimes a barbecue pit or grills. Parking and restrooms are nearby. Shelters must be vacated by 9:45 p.m. Rates range from $15 - $90, and all vehicles in the group must display a ParkPass ($5).
		Group Shelters: Special Event Facilities Perfect for family reunions and church picnics, enclosed group shelters have tables and chairs for 50 to 250, kitchens, restrooms, heat and air conditioning, and adjacent parking. Many have large barbecue pits. Shelters must be vacated by 9:45 p.m. Fees range from $40 - $200, and all vehicles in the group must display a ParkPass ($5). Cancellations must be made at least 30 days in advance and will be assessed a $10 fee.

Things to Know about Picnic Facilities

Picnic Shelters and Group Shelters are open 10 a.m.-9:45 p.m. Events must end by 9:45 p.m.

All vehicles in the group must display a ParkPass. A ParkPass is the daily parking fee ($5) required at all Georgia State Parks.

Cancellations: Shelter fees will be refunded, minus a $10 fee, if cancelled at least 30 days in advance. Reservation dates may be transferred once with no additional fee.
