The Suwannee River Eco-Lodge, operated by Stephen C. Foster State Park, is a unique location for hunting retreats, paddling vacations, business meetings, retreats, reunions and weddings. Surrounded by pine-scented forest, it offers exceptional privacy for individuals and groups. The Eco-lodge is made up of 10 rental cottages, a conference room, smaller meeting room, BBQ shelter and commercial kitchen. Guests may rent a portion or all of the facility. All vehicles parked at the Eco-lodge must display a ParkPass and events must end at 10 p.m. The Eco-Lodge has Wi-Fi accessibility and is located 18-miles from S.C. Foster State Park.

Cottages

Eco-Lodge Cottage

Ten cottages vary in size and capacity, and all have screened porches with forest views. Cottages include fully equipped kitchens with refrigerator, oven and stove, utensils, and a dining room table. Although wi-fi is available, individual units do not have telephones, adding to the retreat-like atmosphere.

The entire Eco-Lodge can sleep up to 40 guests in 12 bedrooms.  Units 1 and 10 are on the ends, holding 8 people in 2 bedrooms with 2 beds each. Units 2, 3, 8 and 9 hold 4 people in 1 bedroom with 2 beds. Units 5 and 6 are efficiency units, holding 2 people in 1 bed. Units 2, 5, 6 and 9 are wheelchair accessible. Visitors may rent cottages without also renting other Eco-lodge facilities, making it an affordable getaway for kayakers and anglers exploring the Suwannee River and Okefenokee Swamp.

Paddling, Fishing, Golf & More

Paddling

Located near the beautiful Okefenokee Swamp and Suwannee River, the Eco-lodge is surrounded by exceptional outdoor recreation. The 9-hole Fargo Golf Course is just across the road. An on-site catfish pond is popular with anglers and a fishing license is required. While boat rental is not available at the Eco-lodge, local outfitters can provide kayak/canoe rental. The gently flowing Suwannee River, with its tea-colored water and enormous tree trunks, is just a short drive away and may be accessed at the Suwannee River Visitor Center’s boat ramp. Entry to the famed Okefenokee Swamp—known for alligators, fishing, birding and astronomy—is 18 miles away at Stephen C. Foster State Park. Guided pontoon boat tours and boat rentals are available at the park when water levels are high enough.
