We're starting to see the beginnings of fall color, with sourwoods already deep red and poplars a golden yellow. Typically, fall color peaks in late October through early November in northern Georgia. Right now, forests at lower elevations are still predominently green, and higher elevations showing many yellows. Bright wildflowers such as jewel weed, cardinal flower and ironweed dot the landscape. Check back often for updates on how color is progressing in Georgia's State Parks.
