Wildlife Management Areas in Georgia

Ocmulgee WMA

Ocmulgee Wildlife Management Area is located in Bleckley, Pulaski and Twiggs counties. This 15,000 acre property has hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. 

The Gum Swamp Creek Tract is a 475 acre area open for archery hunting for deer, turkey and small game. No camping is allowed on this tract. 


Lula Bridge WMA

Lula Bridge Wildlife Management Area is located in Lula, GA. The 513 acre property has opportunities for waterfowl and small game hunting.  The boat ramp at Lula Bridge provides access to the Chattahoochee River and Lake Lanier. 


Griffin Ridge WMA

Griffin Ridge Wildlife Management Area is located in Long County. This 5,600 acre property provides hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, and alligator. No ATVs or horses are allowed on the property and vehicular access is limited to the designated parking areas. Camping allowed only at Fountain Hole Camping Area. 


Dawson Forest WMA

The Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area is located in Dawson County. This 25,500 acre property offers hunting for deer, bear, turkey, small game, dove, and waterfowl.There are five sections (tracts) of the WMA, including Wildcat Creek, Goethe, Burnt Mountain, Amicalola, and City of Atlanta. The DNR Wildlife Resources Division owns 15,000 acres of the forest, with the City of Atlanta owning the lower 10,000 acres.
