This pretty park west of Augusta is best known for its equestrian facilities, Confederate museum and lakeside group camp. Horseback riders can explore 21 miles of trails and stay overnight in their own campground.  Overnight guests can choose from lakeside cottages or a modern campground, while large groups can enjoy privacy in the park’s group camp or pioneer campground.
 
Visitors can enjoy geocaching, fishing and boating, while also learning about a key officer in the American Civil War. Named after the vice president of the Confederacy and governor of Georgia, A.H. Stephens State Park features a Confederate museum with one of the finest collections of Civil War artifacts in Georgia. Stephens’ home, Liberty Hall, is renovated to its 1875 style, fully furnished and open for tours.

Park Hours: 7 a.m.–10 p.m.
Office Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
The museum and Liberty Hall are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Group tours during the week may be arranged with advance reservations.
$5 parking. Annual passes available.

Equestrian Workday

Join other horse enthusiasts as they help maintain and improve the equestrian trails and camping area at the park. Lunch and goodies included. Camp Liberty's Fire Tower and it's Enduring Legacy

Take a hayride through time and see firsthand the enduring legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps. On the hayride we will explore the history of Camp Liberty, it's fire tower. The Arrest of Alexander Hamilton Stephens

On May 11, 1865 A.H. Stephens was arrested and charged with treason. Come out and experience a live re-enactment of his arrest and his homecoming that took place on October 27, 1865. In addition to the re-enactment, we will have period performers and demonstrators.  $1 - $5. 706-456-2602.

Paddle Me to the Blue Moon

Junior Fishing Rodeo

Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration

A Walk to the Stars

Your State Parks Day - The Great Clean Up at A. H. Stephens

Please come and join Friends of A. H. Stephens and our Park Staff on this very important day. Our goal is to clean, rake, clip, and remove underbrush in areas throughout the park. A Haunted Evening at A.H. Stephens

A Candlelight Christmas at Liberty Hall
