This historically significant park is the oldest and largest Woodland Indian site in the southeastern United States, occupied by Indians from 350 to 750 A.D. Georgia’s oldest great temple mound, standing 57-feet high, dominates two smaller burial mounds and several ceremonial mounds. The park’s museum is built around an excavated mound, providing an unusual setting for learning who these people were and how they lived. Inside, visitors will find numerous artifacts and a film.

Kolomoki Mounds is also known for its wide range of outdoor activities. Two lakes provide fishing and boating, and a campground is nestled under hardwoods and pines. Hikers can choose from three scenic trails. The Spruce Pine Trail offers views of lakes Yahola and Kolomoki, while the Trillium Trail and White Oak Trail meander through the forest. Children will enjoy the playground, pedal boats and miniature golf.

National Plant a Flower Day and National Girl Scouts Day

Volunteer your afternoon with Girl Scouts from the local community while getting your hands dirty. Help us turn our winter flower beds into springtime beauties with fresh flowers and mulch. Stargazing at the Mounds

We’ll have star-charts, red-lensed flashlights and moon binoculars ready for star viewing from on top of the mounds. Meet at Groups Shelter 2 parking lot and we’ll walk you to the mound. Bring flashlights with a red lens, wear warm clothes and closed toed shoes. Children welcome. No pets please. $5 parking. 229-724-2150.

Easter Egg Hunt

Join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt located at the lower Day Use. Great prizes are available for those lucky participants who find the golden egg. All eggs will be filled with other prizes as well. All ages are welcome and will be divided up 0-3, 4-7, 8+. Friends of Kolomoki Volunteer Day

Join us as we spruce up the park to prepare for Summer. Help us clean trails, wash boats, and clean the campground. Everyone is invited to help as we celebrate Volunteer Week. Perseid Meteor Shower Night Paddle
Saturday, Aug 12, 2017 8 PM to 10 PM
Join a ranger on Lake Kolomoki to view this spectacular meteor shower. You will paddle around our 80 acre lake to learn about the wildlife at the park, constellations and water conservation techniques. Canoes and kayaks are both for rent. Must register before the event. Kolomoki Festival
Saturday, Oct 14, 2017 10 AM to 4 PM
Join us for our annual Kolomoki Festival. There will be live music, food vendors, arts and craft vendors along with Native American demonstrators. This is a fun filled day for the entire family. Pontoon boat rides for the family and the Kolomoki Kids section will have free crafts. We will also have our annual Kolomoki Kornhole tournament. $5 parking. 229-724-2150.
