This historically significant park is the oldest and largest Woodland Indian site in the southeastern United States, occupied by Indians from 350 to 750 A.D. Georgia’s oldest great temple mound, standing 57-feet high, dominates two smaller burial mounds and several ceremonial mounds. The park’s museum is built around an excavated mound, providing an unusual setting for learning who these people were and how they lived. Inside, visitors will find numerous artifacts and a film.

Kolomoki Mounds is also known for its wide range of outdoor activities. Two lakes provide fishing and boating, and a campground is nestled under hardwoods and pines. Hikers can choose from three scenic trails. The Spruce Pine Trail offers views of lakes Yahola and Kolomoki, while the Trillium Trail and White Oak Trail meander through the forest. Children will enjoy the playground, pedal boats and miniature golf.

Fishing Rodeo
Saturday, Jul 29, 2017 10 AM to 3 PM
Come show off your angler skills at Lake Kolomoki. There will be three age groups competing for titles of longest fish, smallest fish, and most fish caught. A casting challenge, door prizes, and boat rentals will be 50% off during rodeo hours. Fishing poles will be provided for those who don’t have one, as well as live bait, music, and concessions. $5 parking. 229-724-2150.
Perseid Meteor Shower Night Paddle
Saturday, Aug 12, 2017 8 PM to 10 PM
Join a ranger on Lake Kolomoki to view this spectacular meteor shower. You will paddle around our 80 acre lake to learn about the wildlife at the park, constellations and water conservation techniques. Canoes and kayaks are both for rent. Must register before the event. Movie Night

Meet at Picnic Shelter 4 for a fun movie about two childhood friends who get caught up with the mob and are forced to deliver $50,000 to Australia. Movie Night at the Visitor Center

Kids Drive in Movie Night

Bring the children for a drive in movie night at picnic shelter 4. They will get to relax in their own personalized "vehicle" and watch a movie on the big screen. Kolomoki Festival

Join us for our annual Kolomoki Festival. There will be live music, food vendors, arts and craft vendors along with Native American demonstrators. This is a fun filled day for the entire family. Pontoon boat rides for the family and the Kolomoki Kids section will have free crafts. We will also have our annual Kolomoki Kornhole tournament. $5 parking. 229-724-2150.
