Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites Art Contest

Calling all high school students! Earn a chance to have your art displayed at the Georgia State Capitol during the 2025 legislative session.


How to enter

Draw or paint a landscape, historic structure, or a piece of the natural world that references the beauty and value of state parks to you. Submit a JPG photo of your art by October 31, 2024.

 View art contest events at our sites

  • Can be completed on your own, or at art programs hosted by state parks and historic sites from August through October. Art supplies will be provided at site-hosted events.
  • When photographing your artwork for online submission, please fill the frame fully and make sure the artwork appears straight (not tilted in any direction).
  • Please use JPG/JPEG photo files (no PDFs or HEIC files).
  • Art must be a 2 dimensional drawing or painting of a state park or historic site. Photographs or digital art will not be considered for placement at the Georgia State Capitol.
  • This contest is open to Georgia residents in 9th – 12th grade during the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Only one entry is allowed per person.

After the winners are announced, art will be mailed to Georgia State Park and Historic Sites Headquarters and will be put on display at the Capitol for select dates during the 2025 legislative session.
