Join us on Friday evenings to observe the stars above us. Telescope and Gazing Binoculars on hand, or bring your own equipment. We will learn about well-known constellations and celestial events. Meet at the Visitor Center by 8:15 p.m. and we will carpool to the gazing location. Heavy cloud cover and/or rain cancels this event. $5 parking. 770-975-0055.

Lawn Game Merriment

Enjoy an afternoon of lawn games with an AmeriCorps ranger on the lawn by the Vaughn Cabin. Have some unadulterated fun playing great games like bocce ball, corn hole, croquet, ladder ball, kubb, and giant jenga. Open to all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult. Introduction to Orienteering and Compasses

Red Top Mountain State Park - Acworth, GA
Join us at the Visitor Center for an introductory course to the sport of Orienteering on our permanent course. We'll be starting at the Visitor Center, then taking a short walk to the course. Wear closed toed shoes, bring water, and wear weather appropriate clothing. Compasses will be provided for loan or can be purchased from the Visitor Center. $5 plus $5 parking. 770-975-0055.

Learn the basics of archery and see if this hobby is right for you. We will provide all the equipment needed to be hitting the bulls-eye in no time. You'll learn a new skill and get in shape. Teddy Bear Hike - National Trails Day

Join us for a family friendly hike starting at the old park office on Lakeside Trail. On this paved, stroller friendly, .75 mile loop trail, kids of all ages are invited hunt for hidden teddy bears and explore our outdoor classroom. Sweet Summer Nights Hike - National Trails Day

Bring your special someone and join us at the Iron Hill Trail parking lot for a special sunset hike. Resplendent views of the lake at sunset await on this 3.9 mile loop trail.
