Lake Liberty and Lake Buncombe are open to the general public. Fishing is allowed at Lake Buncombe year-round. The lake is stocked with bass, brim, crappie, and catfish. A park pass is required as well as a valid Georgia Fishing License.
Fishing in Federal Lake is only allowed to guests who have a reservation at one of the four cottages. The lake is stocked with bass, brim, crappie, and catfish.
Three lakes provide varying angling opportunities. Lake Buncombe is open to all anglers, is accessible by the bank or boat, and has a good population of bass and bluegill. Small Lake Liberty has bank access and is stocked with channel catfish for children’s and seniors’ fishing rodeos. Federal Lake is the largest and is open only to cottage and group camp guests. Jon boats are available for rent to access bass, bluegill and catfish in this lake. (Information provided by OnTheFlySouth.com.)
