Summerville
Hatchery
The Summerville Trout Hatchery and office is located in Chattooga County. The facility produces around 600,000 rainbow trout fry to distribute around Georgia each year.
Summerville Hatchery produces 90,000 walleye fingerlings each year for stocking into Carters Lake and Rocky Mountain Public Fishing Area. The hatchery also hatches sturgeon eggs received from Wisconsin DNR and produces 5,000 or more four-inch fingerlings for stocking into the Coosa River system, where WRD hopes to restore a naturally reproducing population of this native fish.
