Mossy Creek Dairy Dove Field

The Mossy Creek Dairy Dove Field is a 140-acre property located near Cleveland. This property offers hunting opportunities for dove. Hunters may start checking in at 5:30 a.m. on the morning of the hunt and can hunt until noon. No blinds, buckets, seats or other devices may be placed on the field until the hunter has checked in. No standbys.

Alapaha River WMA

The Alapaha River Wildlife Management Area encompasses 6,870 acres of state-owned land. The WMA consists of approximately 4,726 acres of upland pine forest and 2,143 acres of bottomland hardwood forest, creek drains, and cypress/gum wetlands. Please do not block gates and keep all vehicles on open improved roads. Roads that are not open to motorized vehicles are posted with a sign stating “No Vehicle Access”. Please remember that all wildlife species, including snakes, are protected unless their take is specifically authorized in the WMA regulations.

McEntire Road VPA

The 95-acre McEntire Road VPA area is located in the southern edge of Murray County and contains huntable crop fields for migratory birds (i.e. doves), as well as forested land that may be small game hunted during posted dates.

London Farms Dove Field

The London Farms Dove Field is a 70-acre property located near Cleveland. This property offers quota hunts for dove. Selected hunters may start checking in at noon each day. No blinds, buckets, seats or other devices may be placed on the field until the hunter has checked in. No standbys. Selected hunters may bring up to two guests.

Appling County Dove Field

The Appling County Dove Field is 110 acres of dove fields open the first three Saturdays of dove season.


Voluntary Public Access Area

Appling County Dove Field is a Voluntary Public Access (VPA) property. Since 2014, the Wildlife Resources Division has been able to enhance and add to its WMA program through additional temporary agreements with private landowners for public hunting opportunities thanks to a USDA grant.

Camp Thunder VPA

Camp Thunder VPA is a 1,627-acre property located outside of Thomaston. Opportunities include archery hunting for deer, turkey and small game during state seasons. No ATVs or camping allowed. Hunters utilizing this area for deer or turkey hunting should be sure to check their game using Georgia Game Check and select the Private Land option.
