Hurricane Helene made landfall Thursday night at around 11:10pm with 140 mph wind category 4 storm, hitting Florida’s Big Bend. After a few hours, the hurricane weakened to category 1 and then downgraded to a tropical storm as it continued North through Georgia. Flooding, damage and other issues remain throughout the state as recovery processes begin.
As Georgia is impacted by this storm, guests with reservations during this time period may transfer their reservations to another park, change to a future date, or cancel without penalties. Changes must be made by calling 1-800-864-7275 (Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–8 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. EST).
Evacuees are strongly encouraged to travel to more northern parks outside the path of the storm as strong winds and heavy rain may affect middle and southern parks.
