Samantha (Sami) Wilson has been named manager of Red Top Mountain State Park on Lake Allatoona, one of Georgia’s most popular state parks. She was previously the assistant manager of Chattahoochee Bend State Park near Newnan.
Wilson began her career with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources four years ago, working in resource management, then in the State Parks Division’s manager-in-training program at Hard Labor Creek, Tugaloo and Victoria Bryant state parks. She was then promoted to Assistant Manager at High Falls and Dames Ferry state parks before transferring to Chattahoochee Bend State Park. Previously, Wilson worked with AmeriCorps for Habitat for Humanity.
The Georgia native attended Kennesaw State University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology with a minor in Environmental Studies. She looks forward to getting to know the staff and visitors at Red Top Mountain State Park and exploring her new community of Cartersville.
