Historic Civilian Conservation Corps Camp Tour

The Civilian Conservation Corps began construction of Hard Labor Creek in 1934, and finished their work here in 1939. They left behind the camp they lived and worked in, in which some buildings still stand today. Join a ranger on a historic tour through what remains of Georgia's only standing CCC Camp. Historic Civilian Conservation Corps Camp Tour

The Civilian Conservation Corps began construction of Hard Labor Creek in 1934, and finished their work here in 1939. They left behind the camp they lived and worked in, in which some buildings still stand today. Join a ranger on a historic tour through what remains of Georgia's only standing CCC Camp. Sitton's Gulch Hike

Crime and Punishment Walking Tour

Bank robberies, shootouts, hog thieves! Join a park ranger on a historical tour of downtown Dahlonega, detailing some of the most well known ne'er-do-wells and miscreants of Lumpkin county's past! The tour starts in front of the museum main entrance, and circles the square. It takes about an hour; dress appropriately for the weather. Some of the sidewalks can be uneven but the ranger can accommodate the route for guests.

Trick or Treat around the campground! Start at the Trading Post for a scavenger hunt while you trick or treat to earn some extra goodies. Areas 1, 2, 3, & 5 are included in trick-or-treating. Syrup Makin' Time - 37th Annual Event

Experience sugar cane syrup making the old-fashioned way as we cook cane juice in the original kettles and press sugar cane on the steam powered press. We will also have live bluegrass music, spinning, weaving, blacksmithing, and woodstove cooking and a Civil War encampment commemorating the arrival of General Sherman's federal troops.

Candlelight Tours

Tour the Vann's historic Cherokee home decorated with freshly cut greenery and lit by hundreds of candles, akin to an early 19th-century Moravian Christmas. Live music, cider and cookies add to the festivities. Arrive by 8p.m. to best enjoy the event, admission is paid at the door. Candles will be extinguished at 9p.m.
162nd Winter Muster Reenactment

Experience the dramatic reenactment of Georgia's final Civil War battle, marking the end of Sherman's March to the Sea. The battle begins Saturday, December 12, at 4:40 PM (arrive by 4:00). On Friday, December 11, explore soldiers' encampments and glimpse camp life leading up to the fight.
