"Your State Parks Day" Offers Volunteers Free Admission on September 27 - Sponsored by Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites

ATLANTA, GA

In celebration of National Public Lands Day, Georgia’s State Parks and Historic Sites are encouraging citizens to volunteer for a variety of projects on Saturday, September 27. In return, volunteers enjoy free admission to more than 60 state parks and historic sites across Georgia. The annual event is called “Your State Parks Day” and is sponsored by Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving, supporting, and celebrating the state’s natural and historical treasures. This year’s theme is “Serve, Support, and Celebrate.” While visitors normally pay a parking fee or admission fee, Friends will be covering the fees for everyone who lends a helping hand on September 27.
